So we have come to the last few days in Canada. Unfortunately the weather has not been as good here as I am hearing it has been back home typical, this morning we were woken by the loudest thunder i have ever heard at 6.30. We have had 2 days of great sunshine and tomorrow and Thursday are due to be great.
We have been shown the sights of Vancouver, it is a really beautiful city as you walk down the street you look to the right and there are these huge snow capped mountains. We walked down along the North Shore it is a walk with parks along one side and the ocean on the other. We brought Bella out on her first picnic by the beach, she seemed to like it. As we walked down by the water was saw some Inuksuk which are stones balanced on each each other by Native Canadians. It has been done for centuries and were used as man made land marks for navigation and they look pretty cool.
We have been having a great time with our hosts Meg, Ger and Isabella. Meg and Ger live in a town about 40 minutes outside Vancouver called Port Moody. It is a really nice little town very family orientated and they love their exercise there are running and walking trails everywhere.
On Saturday we went to Kitsilano Beach it is a really popular beach where you can sit on the sand and look up to the mountains. We opted to sit in the shade on the grass because the beach was so packed and it is a bit of a meat market. Dolly birds in bikinis, D&G sunglasses and high heels! Nice. We are hoping to head back down if the weather picks up again tomorrow, can't wait to go swimming again. We had Sunday lunch at Ger's parents home it was so nice they get all the kids and grandkids over every Sunday and have a big family dinner, this Sunday they opened the pool it was so nice the weather wasn't as hot as the day before so it wasn't uncomfortable just great.
We had a trip to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which is as wide as 2 747s wing to wing
and very very high and bouncy. Needless to say I didn't cross it but Stu and Meg headed across and explored the other side. It has some really good native art but weirdly enough it was built and owned by a Scottish guy so there was Celtic music playing.
Vancouver is such a great City I would tell everyone to come to visit. We keep saying that we would love to come to stay maybe we will look into a visa hummmm well we should just think about one trip at a time. Well we only have a few days and we are hoping to have as good a time as we have already. The locals are to coin a Canadian phrase "Super Nice" we have been met with such warm hospitality by everyone. Hopefully the next bit of this journey will be as good as here.
We here we have booked our Hostel for Mexico City it looks nice and hopefully it will live up to the reviews we have a long stop over in LAX to get over when we hit the hostel!
Thanks to our hosts Meg, Ger, Bella and their parents for being so welcoming.
